VIVA FIESTA SAN ANTONIO!

In 1891 San Antonio created the "Battle of Flowers" parade to celebrate the visit of President Benjamin Harrison. Rain postponed the event for three days -- San Antonio never cancels a party. From the "Battle of Flowers" grew "Fiesta Week", seven days of day parades, night parades, river parades, scheduled celebrations and unscheduled parties. Fiesta is held annually in April to celebrate the end of lent and Easter.
